What goes on in Nicole Claveloux's head when she falls asleep? First there is Loïc Lalune, the head decorator of imagination, Lili and Zizi Frisson, specialists in sensations, Madame Reine Bancale, a memory expert in charge of the archives, and of course the Grand Director, Nicole Claveloux herself. But one fine night, Charles Chaposec, head of discernment in the "Logic and Reason" department, a rigid man who wants to carry out a management audit in the dream sector, arrives. And that's how our happy gang embarks on a colorful journey to the land of dreams and nightmares...

More than forty years after her last adult comic strip, Nicole Claveloux is back in action and delivers an incredibly rich work. Juggling brilliantly between different narrative styles, the artist plays with the limits of the frame, distorts speech bubbles and summons asides with the reader to play on the mise en abyme. She has lost none of her taste for the baroque and her drawing retains the impact and strangeness that made her reputation.

The characters, all present in the narrator's brain, each represent a part of the human personality. Through them, Nicole Claveloux tells us about the cult of performance, the link between the artist and his work and the importance of listening to one's emotions. While maintaining her very particular style filled with mischievous humor and dreaminess, she offers with this book an ode to imagination and fantasy, and in passing opens a real reflection on creation and the artist's profession.
