The idea for the work „Do you tend to cry?“ („Neigen Sie zum Weinen?“) came from reading questionnaires that psychiatrists use to determine the severity of depression in their patients. What does it mean for a person’s condition when it becomes necessary to ask them questions such as „Do you like looking into flickering flames?“ and „Do you feel the need to scream loudly and smash objects?“
