A nearly-silent comic book following a woman as she wanders through an empty, industrial landscape. Oil Field is a slow-paced work filled with mechanical and somatic details, expanding fleeting moments into a slow meditation.
The comic has a minimal and observational style. The steady, calm pacing of the story is punctuated by some high-stakes moments as the subject recklessly encounters the landscape she finds herself in. Oil Field indirectly reflects on the brutality of fossil fuel extraction and the exuberance and violence of crude oil extraction.
