A Celebration of 10 Years of Broken Frontier Six to Watch Party

We've got a very special event lined up on Saturday 31st August 2024, from 7-9pm with our good friends over at Broken Frontier! I'll hand it over to them to share the exciting plans:

2024 marks the 10th year of multiple award-winning web-magazine and comics community hub Broken Frontier’s ‘Six Creators to Watch’ initiative, a programme that actively seeks out deserving emerging voices in comics to champion their work and bring it to wider audiences. It provides the six chosen creators with a year of guaranteed coverage at BF, a mentoring initiative, and multiple opportunities to be a part of Broken Frontier-related comics events, panels and talks.

From their self-publishing and small press roots, Six to Watch creators have gone on to be published by the likes of 2000 AD/Rebellion, Avery Hill Publishing, BOOM! Studios, Dark Horse Comics, Faber, Fantagraphics, Graphic Universe, Icon Books, Image Comics, Jonathan Cape, Koguchi Press, kus! comics, Myriad Editions, Oni Press, SelfMadeHero, Seven Stories Press, Street Noise Books, Titan Books, Unbound, Z2 Comics, and countless micropublishers.

Notable work has included Sabba Khan’s The Roles We Play (Myriad Editions), Danny Noble’s Shame Pudding (Street Noise Books), Jem Milton’s The Flying Ship (Dark Horse/Tapas), Shanti Rai’s Sennen (Avery Hill), Anna Readman on ‘Abelard Snazz’ in 2000 AD (Rebellion), Mollie Ray’s Giant (Faber), and Dominique Duong’s upcoming Patchwork (Jonathan Cape), among many others.

To celebrate this momentous occasion nearly thirty of the Six to Watch creators (subject to schedules) will be at Gosh! at the end of August for the ’10 Years of the Broken Frontier Six to Watch’ party, including Abs Bailey, Alba Ceide, Aleesha Nandhra, Alice Urbino, Alxndra Cook, Andy Barron, Beatrice Mossman, Cat Sims, Dominique Duong, Ed Firth, Ellice Weaver, Joe Stone, Josh Hicks, Kat Cass, Kate-mia White, Kry Garcia, Laurel Pettitt, Manon Wright, Mereida Fajardo, Norm Konyu, Olivia Sualdea, Olivia Sullivan, Peony Gent, Pigeon/Kamila Krol, Sabba Khan, Sammy Ward, Shanti Rai, Tal Brosh, Tinglin Liu, Tom Philipson, Zhenyi Zheng and Zoè Delautre Corral.

Wow! What an absolutely jaw-dropping list of creators joining us! Come along to the party to celebrate with them, Broken Frontier and ourselves on Saturday 31st August, from 7pm.
