Free Comic Book Day 2025

Back like a bad smell, except it’s a good smell, the best smell even... the smell of free comics! (free to you, we still have to pay for them). IT’S FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! We've got big plans for this year and promise to make Free Comic Book Day at Gosh! an entertaining day packed with (très) fun activities. FCBD will be taking place on Saturday 3rd May 2025 from 10am.

Before we get into anything else, Free Comic Book Day will, of course, be a day to grab some comics released exclusively for the day. Much in the spirit of record store day, this is a great way to introduce new readers to the medium of comics and to bring existing fans something to enjoy! We'll be trying to reduce in-store congestion by distributing the comics in blind bags of 5, available free with a purchase. We like to celebrate the festivities a little more here. So, starting from the moment we open, which is even slightly earlier than usual at 10am, we'll be hosting a selection of kids workshops and signings that will run all through the day. We’ll even have local artists Yetunde Ekuntuyi and Clio Isadora decorating our windows with paintings to celebrate FCBD!

Our kids workshop will give the chance for children aged 6-12 to sit down and draw with a bunch of our invited comics artists!

Kicking off our kids workshop from 10am, we welcome our friends over at Flying Eye! They'll be here with a handful of their exceptional artists including Alexis Deacon (Curse of the Chosen) & Joe Todd-Stanton (A Mouse Called Julian).

Following that, from 11am, legendary kids comic, Beano, comes to Gosh! for the very first time and presents a special workshop and activity table with artists Emily McGorman-Bruce & Nigel Auchterlounie.

And to finish our kids workshops, at 12pm we welcome the Free Comic Book Day staples, the mighty Tor Freeman (Boss of the Underworld) and Gary Northfield (Derek the Sheep).

Then from 1pm, we start our set of two signings for the day. At 1pm, we celebrate TWENTY YEARS of Boom! Studios with a star studded cast of creators, John Allison and Ram V.

From 2pm we’ll be joined by the amazing Marc Ellerby and Beck Kubrick for a Rick and Morty themed signing!

Phew what a day. So join us from 10am on Saturday 3rd May to take part in this wonderful day of celebrations!
