The Gosh! Authority 04.02.26
Hello!

This Friday, 7-9pm, sees the excellent Katriona Chapman here to celebrate the release of The Pass, her new book from Fantagraphics! We'll also have a bookplate available, releasing on the night. Get the details here.

Don't forget our sale is still ongoing! Had a busy weekend, with a lot of heavily reduced stuff moving out the door, so we've refilled the boxes and still have more in waiting. Come take a look!

The sale runs until the 14th, but we wanted to cap it off with something that felt a bit special. Behold: BATMAN SUNDAY! We recently purchased the comics estate of a lovely customer who sadly passed away, an avid Batman fan. The collection includes a huge quantity of comics, toys, magazines and other Bat-phemera. We'll be putting as much as we can out on sale on Sunday 15th February, taking over the display tables and benches upstairs. Lots of great stuff, so mark it in your diaries, Bat-fans! Details here.
Quick reminder: due to weather-related delays we'll be receiving the new comics on Wednesday to go out same day. That means it's unlikely books will be on the shelves at opening. Hopefully the courier is early and we'll have it sorted by lunch!
The titles we had missing last week are inbound, so all in all it's a pretty chunky week!
HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

- DC K.O. BOSS BATTLE #1 - DC K.O. gets weird this week, as we see a number of intercompany showdowns that were definitely not on my 2026 bingo card. Never mind Superman vs Spider-Man, what about Superman vs Homelander? Wonder Woman vs Red Sonja? Batwoman vs Vampirella? Annabelle? Sub-Zero? Sam, the serial killer bear from Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees? Jeremy Adams, Carmine Di Giandomenico, Ronan Cliquet, Kieran McKeown and Pablo M. Collar had better deliver!

- PLANET OF THE APES VS FANTASTIC FOUR #1 - A bit of time and dimension hopping isn't too much of a stretch for the FF, so this all feels pretty normal I guess! And this is proper PotA stuff, too: Cornelius, Zira, Ursus and Dr. Zaius are all in attendence (as is Doctor Doom, that big party pooper.) Josh Trujillo and Andrea Di Vito are having some fun!

- KNIGHT CITY #1 - Matt Kindt and David Lapham join forces for the tale of a man who literally leads two lives. In one he's a big-time hero, a Superman-like saviour of ordinary folks who takes on all the menaces the world has to offer. But when he sleeps, he becomes an ordinary man in an ordinary world, devoid of superheroic goings-on. He soon must make a choice: remain a hero despite it denying him a normal, happy life; or embrace normality and stability, despite the cost in lives to a world that no longer has a hero?

- MAGIK & COLOSSUS #1 - I'll be honest, these days I tend to forget that Peter and Illyana Rasputin are siblings. Ashley Allen and Germán Peralta haven't, though. They're sending the pair to Russia, where they become embroiled in folkloric shenanigans and have to overcome their differences to save Mother Russia!

- STORM EARTH'S MIGHTIEST MUTANT #1 - Murewa Ayodele and Federica Mancin begin the new era for Ororo Munroe. Ororo is jetting around the world engaging with enemys and burying old allies, but out in the galaxy a cosmic threat is brewing!

- BUG WARS SPYDER WITCH SPECIAL #1 - Jason Aaron and Mahmoud Asrar invite Baldemar Rivas to join them in the back garden for this one-shot return to the Bug Wars world. It's a different take on the miniature war-torn fantasy realm of Slade Slaymaker's back yard, seen through the eyes of the Spider Wytches of Wyrdweb.

- SUPERMAN CHAINS OF LOVE #1 - When the Creeper and Livewire hook up and put their heads together, they decide to create a new media outlet. The Wiretap is born, a shocking attention-grabber that's pulling the rug out from under the Daily Planet. How you gonna punch your way out that, Superman?

- MALEVOLENT #1 - A supernatural apocalypse has left the Earth infested with demons (or "Mals") and humanity fighting for survival. In order to fight back thye have created a weapon of their own, but she might not be the savior they're hoping for. Justin Jordan and John Bivens reteam for a little horror, a little action, and what looks to be quite a lot of blood.

- DO NOT DISTURB #1 - A detective is murdered on the job as he tries to solve the mystery of a missing woman. No problem, as his spirit still haunts the halls of the Argyle Hotel, where he negotiates the physical and supernatural worlds to find the murderer. An intriguing new series from Jarod Hunter Roe and David Flores.

- DC X AEW #1 - They've been lurking in some backups and variant covers for a while now, but the wrestlers of All Elite Wrestling hit the spotlight, teaming with a suitably elite version of the Justice League pulled together by Booster Gold. Steve Orlando and Travis Mercer get to do some toy-bashing here.

- GODZILLA INFINITY ROAR #1 - In the wake of Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe, the Big G is going galactic, teaming with Knull for a Marvel beat-down of cosmic proportions. Gerry Duggan, Ig Guara and Javier Garrón are the culprits. Man, what is this, IP Integration Week or something?

- D'ORC #1 - In a fantasy world riven by incessant conflict, one hapless half-dwarf, half-orc finds himself at the centre of it all after a rather unfortunate prophecy. D'Orc, it is said, will herald the end of the world. But the denizens of this land are all intent on making sure that doesn't happen. The solution: kill D'Orc!

- LOVE IGNITED #1 - A new weird romance anthology from ignition press, with an initial line-up including the likes of, among others, Chris Burnham, Dani, and Patrick Horvath. As with all anthologies, I'm sure there will be hits and misses, but that's not a bad few names to start with!

- RIPCORD #1 - A new horror tale from Cullen Bunn and Aneke Murillenem. Ripcord is a popular new drug with deadly consequences, where the path to addicition ends with a transformation into a bloodthirsty killer. Against this backdrop, a woman refuses to give up on her sister, who has gone missing in the Outback, and will do whatever it takes to get her back.
Aaaand, we're done! See you next week!
Andrew.
