The Gosh! Authority 05.03.25
Hello!
Got any budding manga-ka in the house? Be sure to bring them down on Saturday, 1-2pm, for the launch signing of How to be a Manga Artist, with authors Fumio Obata and Balthazar Pagani! Get all the details here.
Just a quick note for the concerned in the wake of the announcement that Twomorrows and Mad Cave books are no longer receiving distribution in the UK: we've got you covered. Yes, we'll still be stocking the full range of Twomorrows and Mad Cave titles, so fret not! They won't be appearing in any physical catalogue, though, so if you want to see what's coming up each month for them, check out the "Next Phase" catalogue on this page (where you can also find the DC and Image catalogues).
And lastly, Image titles have been delayed to the UK this week, so expect a healthy pile of them next week!
HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK
- DOCTOR STRANGE OF ASGARD #1 - Dethroned by Doom, former Sorcerer Supreme Stephen Strange heads to Asgard to offer his services. Turns our being in charge of magic in the Asgardian realm is a little more politically charged than back on Earth, especially with the likes of Loki whispering in your ear. Derek Landy is joined by Carlos Magno for this tale of a magical mid-life crisis.
- SECRET SIX #1 - Catman, Deadshot and Black Alice are recruited by Dreamer, Jon Kent and Jay Nakamura to find Amanda Waller, recently escaped from her imprisonment. A no doubt beautifully harmonious team dynamic ensues, as is only right for a Secret Six series. Writer Nicole Maines is joined by Stephen Segovia on art duties.
- TEEN TITANS GO! #1 - The very best version of the Teen Titans returns to a monthly comic courtesy of Sholly Fisch & Dario Brizuela. Expect the usual post-modern lunacy as the gang messes with their image in an effort to get their comic uncancelled, including a visit to the DC offices if need be.
- MOTHRA QUEEN OF THE MONSTERS #1 - Mothra is dead, the world conquered by Antra, and humaity is left hiding in the ruins. But one girl might hold the key to reviving the fuzziest kaiju in this mini-series by Matt Frank and Sophie Campbell.
- SISTER IMPERATOR #1 - Here's one for the Ghost fans (the band, not the 90s Dark Horse superhero). Lead singer Tobias Forge teams up with co-writer Corinna Bechko and artist Puste to tell the origins of Sister Imperator, a powerful figure in the lore of the band (and there is a lot of lore in this band).
- WEB OF SPIDER-VERSE NEW BLOOD #1 - An anthology one-shot that helps to set up the upcoming War of the Multiverse, a clash between the members of the Spider-Verse and those of its gooey shadow, the Venom-Verse. With stories by Mat Groom, Chris Eliopoulos, Greg Pak, Jordan Morris, Alan Robinson, Federico Vicentini and Luciano Vecchio.
And that's the first week of March! See you in week two!
Andrew.
