HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

• BARNSTORMERS #1 - Scott Snyder and Tula Lotay team up for this romance set in the earliest days of aviation. A pilot fresh home from the Great War tours across the USA performing daring feats for local crowds. He is joined by a woman who has an equal passion for flight, and both have their own secrets that keep them moving. Absolute stunner of a book!

• KNIGHT TERRORS - This week kicks off the big DC event that consumes the mainline titles for July and August (in the vein of Future State). A new villain, Insomnia, is responsible for the death of one of the JLA's oldest enemies, and Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman enlist the aid of Deadman to track them down. The story unfolds over the course of a prelude, a four issue mini-series and a concluding one-shot, plus a number of two-issue mini-series that take the place of the regular titles for two months as characters are plunged into the worlds of their nightmares. New titles featuring new characters will also be popping up. As a matter of admin, if you're getting a DC title on your S/O, I will be copying orders for the relevant Knight Terrors books across. But as ever you're under no obligation to take them, so feel free to kick them back to us if you're not keen. Take a look though, as there are some pretty intriguing books coming. I'm just going to do a round up of titles and covers each week for the first issues, so feast your eyes below!

• WEIRD WORK #1 - Shaky Kane and Jordan Thomas take us to the streets of Stellar City for this weird crime saga. There's been a triple homicide and Detective Ovra Sawce is on the case, teamed with a new partner, and saddled with a mystery that might be at the heart of months of gangland killings.

• SWAN SONGS #1 - W. Maxwell Prince presents another series of one-shot tales, this time all along the theme of endings. He's teamed with an impressive line-up of artists doing an issue each. First out the gate is Martin Simmonds, with a tale of the end of the world.

• X-MEN BEFORE THE FALL SINISTER FOUR #1 - While we're all too familiar with the antics of Mr Sinister, it's time we learned about the other three clones of Nathaniel Essex. What have they been doing since the close of the 19th Century, and more importantly, what are they up to now, and how will it impact on the future of mutantkind? Kieron Gillen and Paco Medina know...

• CAPTAIN MARVEL DARK TEMPEST #1 - The legendary Ann Nocenti takes on Carol Danvers, joined by artist Paolo Villanelli. There's a new cosmic threat in town, and it's joined up with a classic villain to make CM's life a misery.
