The Gosh! Authority 05.11.25
Hello!

This weekend sees the mighty Bryan Talbot return for a signing to celebrate the release of The Casebook of Stamford Hawksmoor, his brand new Grandville prequel! Get the details here.
HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

- ICE CREAM MAN MORTAL COIL SHUFFLE SET SPECIAL #1 - A pretty unique item from a creative team who are no strangers to pushing the limits of storytelling (and whose work on Superman The Kryptonite Spectrum I am absolutely loving). On the one hand, it's another horror tale featuring the eponymous creepy purveyor of dairy treats and the lives he intersects with. But on the other, it's a deck of cards (like, a literal deck of cards) which can be arranged and manipulated in various ways to create an entirely unique experience. This is intended as a one-off: no reprints or new editions of it will be produced. So if that piques your curiousity, it's now or never!

- TALES OF PARANOIA #1 - Here's something you don't see very often (the first in 23 years in fact): a new comic by Robert Crumb! Crumb's mix of satire and seeth is still very much on point, and at 81 years old he's lost none of his artistic skill. The comic also features the very last installment of Dirty Laundry Comics, his collaboration with his late wife Aline Kominsky-Crumb.

- DC KO KNIGHTFIGHT #1 - DC KO has been quite the runaway hit, and here's the first spin-off: Batman against Batmen! Bruce Wayne battles across time on the streets of Gotham, courtesy of Joshua Williamson and Dan "I can draw more pages a month than you can" Mora.

- ALIEN VS CAPTAIN AMERICA #1 - Frank Tieri and Stefano Raffaele tell a tale of WWII, where the Red Skull has gone in search of the Inhumans city of Attilan to find weapons to help the Nazi cause. What he and Baron Strucker find instead is a whole heap of acid-bleeding trouble.

- HARLEY & IVY LIFE & CRIMES #1 - Erica Henderson writes and draws a mini-series devoted to DCs most popular couple. From their earliest days as enemies to their blissful future together, Henderson charts the course of true love (which of course never runs smooth).

- SPACE SCOUTS #1 - Matt Kindt and David Rubin re-team for a new epic sci-fi series. A group of young aspirants in a reality show discover their prize is not merely to attain the "Space Scout" title. Instead they're thrust into a war at the edge of space, a war that isn't even supposed to be happening, where their chances of survival are slim to none.

- PLANET SHE-HULK #1 - Following on from the events of Imperial, Jennifer Walters is now in charge of keeping the peace on Sakaar. But she's already been there longer than she would have liked, thanks to those nogoodniks Stephanie Phillips and Aaron Kuder.

- ECHO SEEKER OF TRUTH #1 - A Marvel Voices one-shot by Taboo, B. Earl and Jim Terry focused on Echo, on the trail of her missing cousin. Her only clue: a mysterious wellness cult called Wisteria Meadows. Classic California villainy.

- NO PLACE #1 - Tim Seeley and Stefano Simeone introduce a new metafictional dark fantasy, where the agents of N.O. Place police the intrusion of fictional worlds into our own. Their latest recruit is a teenager who was abducted into a magical world as a child and has recently returned. But not all fantasy worlds are flying tigers and princesses, as she's about to discover.

- CIRCUS MAXIMUS #1 - A Roman heist tale from Mark Sable and Giorgio Pontrelli. A group of disgruntled down-and-outs decide to undertake a daring heist of the imperial treasury using the Circus Maximus as cover. Trouble is, this is the time of Nero, and Rome is about to burn.

- CROWNSVILLE #1 - Two detectives investigate a suicide in a notorious abandoned asylum, but soon discover they have a personal connection to the place that may also veer into the supernatural. A dark thriller from Rodney Barnes and Elia Bonetti.
And that's it for another week!
