The Gosh! Authority 11/02/26
Hello!

Reads, the graphic novel reading group, is back this Wednesday, 7-9pm, looking at a book that's sure to generate a lot of interesting discussion in 2026: The Dark Knight Returns! Details here.

Then on Friday, 7-9pm, it's the 2026 debut of the Gosh / Broken Frontier Drink'n'Draw! Special guests Matthew Dooley and Rein Lee will join artist in residence Mark Stafford for an evening of chatting, drawing and drinking! Details here.

It's the last week of our 2026 sale, winding up on Saturday (our birthday!), just in time for...

...BATMAN SUNDAY! We'll be covering every flat surface we can with boxes of Batman-related material, from toys to comics to magazines, as we sell the estate of a major Batman fan (and much-loved old customer of ours). Details here.
Onto the comics!
HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

- BLEEDING HEARTS #1 - The new Vertigo launches in earnest with the first all-new title for the line! The 20th Century Men team of Deniz Camp and Stipan Morian reuinte for the story of Mouse-Pokes-Golf-Ball-Through-Hole-In-Head (“Poke” for short), a zombie who returns to life in a world ruled by the shambling undead. Very exciting to see a Vertigo relaunch embracing brand new ideas!

- GROUPIES GN - Filmmaker Helen Mullane teams with Tula Lotay for a tale of fame, rock'n'roll decadence, and something even darker. A group of young women follow the latest hit band on the sunset strip, thinking they've hit the big time with an invite on the tour bus as the band travel across the US. Needless to say, it doesn't end well.

- CYCLOPS #1 - Cyclops is lost in the wilderness and hunted by the Reavers in this new mini by old Gosh! pal Alex Paknadel and artist Rogê Antônio. It's always nice when writers get to do interesting things with Cyclops, as he often fades into the background as "leader-guy".

- CROWN A TALE OF HELL #1 - Meet the Hellboy family in this two-parter by Mike Mignola, Todd Mignola, and the ever-lovely Warwick Johnson Cadwell. With Satan's throne vacant, Hellboy's father and brothers and uncle scheme against each other to ascend to their (in their minds) rightful place in Hell.

- SIRENS LOVE HURTS #1 - The Gotham City Sirens return, with Black Canary thrown in for good measure. It's an out-of-continuity, Black Label mini by Tini Howard and Babs Tarr, with the girls on the trail of a murderer while each tries to sort out their complicated love lives.

- A STAR CALLED THE SUN TP - A collection of interconnected science fiction shorts by Simon Roy. Roy was a big part of the old weird sci-fi reinvention of Prophet, and has been putting out these kinds of collections ever since. They're always worth a look, with a unique, wonderfully drawn vision that evokes the best of 70's Euro sci-fi.

- THUNDARR THE BARBARIAN #1 - Jason Aaron and Kewber Baal dust off the classic cartoon character, leaning into the influence of the cartoon's chief creative forces: Steve Gerber, Jack Kirby and Alex Toth.

- THING ON THE DOORSTEP #1 - A modernised H.P. Lovecraft adaptation by Simon Birks and Willi Roberts. Two best friends enter Arkham Sanitorium, but only one of them leaves. The other lies dead of a gunshot wound. All evidence points to the survivor, but he swears innocence. Time to learn the horrifying truth!

- WADE WILSON DEADPOOL #1 - For such a popular character, it's kind of nuts how often Deadpool gets rebooted. This time we've got Benjamin Percy and Geoff Shaw at the helm, so expect things to get a little darker than they have been of late.

- JUST BRUTAL #1 - A dysfunctional family has to get their act together when the kids discover that their parents are near-immortal monster hunters, and their arch-enemy is back. Time for a family road trip, thanks to Dennis Hopeless and Brahm Revel.

- TORTURED HEARTS #1 - An EC Valentine's special, filled with twisty tales of twisted romance. Wy is the comics industry so obsessed with horror-themed Valentine's specials? I'm not complaining, but I don't think any other medium has quite the proportion of horrific tales of romance to celebrate the 14th February!

- GOOD BONES AND OTHER SORDID TALES #1 - See what I mean? From the pages of Hello Darkness comes a curated selection of reprints alongside a brand new lead tale of....horrific love!

- MARC SPECTOR MOON KNIGHT #1 -Jed MacKay and Dev Pramanik's Moon Knight run gets another reskin as Marc Spector gets himself kidnapped. Very careless!

- CENTER HOLDS #1 - A new mini-series by Larry Hama and the late, great Mark D. Bright. Scyber, Lakshmi, Keeper, and Nekkotron are the heart of a super-hero union who have to contend with the authorities and the villains alike.

- BARBARIAN BEHIND BARS #1 - A mysterious, axe-wielding warrior is slapped in the slammer after lopping off a guy's head in the middle of town. Needless to say, now he's behind bars he's not exactly making friends. None of which helps his attorney, who's still trying to figure out what the hell is going on. A barbaric tale by Elliott Kalan and Andrea Mutti.

- STAR WARS JAR JAR #1 - The end times are upon us!
And that's it! See you next time, when we'll be the ripe old age of 40!
