The Gosh! Authority 13.08.25
Hello!
It's Reads week! This month London's premiere graphic novel reading group fixes their eye upon The Power Fantasy Vol 01, the first volume of Kieron Gillen and Caspar Wijngaard's excellent superheroes-as-weapons-of-mass-destruction saga. All are welcome to come along for the chat! Details here.
Just a reminder that links for the catalogues for this month (for October-shipping items) are now listed at the bottom of the email.
HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK
- SUPERMAN THE KRYPTONITE SPECTRUM #1 - This is rather exciting. The Ice Cream Man creative team of W. Maxwell Prince and Martin Morazzo bring their unique vision to Superman in this Black Label mini-series. Supes has discovered four new varieties of Kryptonite in deep space, so decides to investigate their effects before anyone else can get their hands on them. Batman is along for the ride, and my advice would be: except things to get weird.
- PREDATOR KILLS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE #1 - He's been warming up with individual members of the MU, but if it's good enough for Godzilla, it's good enough for the Predators. Especially ones with shiny new vibranium weapons and a megalomaniacal ruler. It's an all-out Predator invasion thanks to those warmongers Benjamin Percy, Marcelo Ferreira and Daniel Picciotto! Saddle up, Marvel Universe!
- UNCLE SCROOGE EARTH'S MIGHTIEST DUCK #1 - Noted Uncle Scrooge author Jason Aaron (who saw that coming?) returns for another Marvel-inflected Scrooge tale with artists Mahmud Asrar, Giuseppe Camuncoli and Ciro Cangialosi. This time the Earth has been conquered, and Scrooge has to battle the demons of his past before he can battle the demons of his present.
- STONESHORE REGISTER GN - An all-new slice of modern fantasy from G. Willow Wilson with artist M. K. Perker. A young refugee takes a junior reporter job in a small town on the Pacific Northwest which turns into a life-changing encounter with the unknown. With a giant statue looming over it and all manner of fey creatures inhabiting its waters and shores, Stoneshore is no ordinary town.
And that, as tiny as it is, is that! See you next time!
