The Gosh! Authority 14.01.26
Hello!

It's Reads week! This month, London's premier graphic novel reading group takes a look at Rune: The Tale of a Thousand Faces, the first volume in Carlos Sánchez's fantasy series. All are welcome, so pop along this Wednesday, 7-9pm, to have a chat!

Then on Thursday, 7-9pm, it's our first launch party of the year for Astrid Goldsmith's The Crystal Vase! It's her first long-form comic following her receiving the Observer/Cape/Comica short story award for her comic A Funeral in Freiburg. Come see what she's been up to! Details here.

I'd also be remiss not to plug the pre-order availability of Kevin O'Neill's final work, a fiercely personal secret project he had been working on for years, published at last by Knockabout in a special limited edition of just 800 copies. Please be sure to place your pre-order through the website to avoid disappointment! Store page here.
Not quite the beast of a week I was expecting (though I'm sure it's coming), but it's a solid one!
HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

- KNULL #1 - Al Ewing, Tom Waltz and Juanan Ramírez bring back everyone's favourite symbiote god. Knull is imprisoned once again, but that's not a state of affairs he intends to let stand. Amazing how often we get asked for Knull comics (presumably thanks to the last Venom film), so at last I can say "Yes!"

- BABS BLACK ROAD SOUTH #1 (OF 6) - Garth Ennis and Jacen Burrows' satirical fantasy series returns for another round. Babs and Izzy are on the road to a blighted land called Mordynn. What could possibly go wrong? Ennis and Burrows have a lot of fun, telling a pretty decent fantasy story while also skewering the many tropes of the genre.

- LOGAN BLACK WHITE & BLOOD #1- Wolverine gets the BW&R treatment. The joy of any Logan anthology is the amount of different settings that creators can play with. Case in point: this issue we travel to the 1950s with Tom Waltz and Alex Lins, when Logan is in the military; then to 1970 NYC with Saladin Ahmed and Adam Kubert; and finally on to the Weapon X program (when is that supposed to have happened now?) with Larry Hama and Dave Wachter.

- WONDER WOMAN BLACK & GOLD 2026 SPECIAL #1 - And I suppose the same can be said to a certain degree with Wonder Woman! Four tales by Tom King, Mitch Gerads, Alyssa Wong, Jordie Bellaire, Steve Orlando, Rossi Gifford, Karen S. Darboe, and Paulina Ganucheau.

- DUNGEONS OF DOOM #1 - I kind of love the concept of this: rival interests converge on the abandoned Castle Doom, only to have it crash down into the labyrinthine dungeons below. The result: a dungeon crawl! Various characters are racing to find terrible weapons of Doom, for both good and ill. Benjamin Percy, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Carlos Magno, Robert Gill, Justin Mason and Georges Jeanty are your dungeon masters!

- SAI DIMENSIONAL RIVALS #1 - A five-issue mini-series starring Sai, Peach Momoko's Demon Days version of Psylocke. It's an odd one, though: as Sai journeys across the multiverse in search of a magical macguffin, each place she finds herself is written and drawn by a different creator, in a collaborative effort that is sure to generate some fascinating results. This issue sees Peach herself, who is in every issue of course, along with Iban Coello and the legendary Stan Sakai.

- TOMB RAIDER SACRED ARTIFACTS #1 - Been a while since we've had Tomb Raider comics! But with new games and a movie on the horizon, maybe we're back in a Lara Croft moment. This series bridges time between the 2008 Tomb Raider Underworld game and the upcoming Tomb Raider Catalyst, and is by Casey Gilly and Antonio Di Caprio.

- WHERE DOES THE RAINBOW END #1 - Artist Stefano Cardoselli and writer Francesca Perillo reunite for a prequel to Love Me: A Romance Story. We explore the origins of Gilda, a young woman who was adopted by the robots of the Rainbow Sector after being abandoned as a small child. Her robot repair skills are second to none, which garners unwelcome attention from the violent robots of the Dark Cage sector.

- LUNA SNOW WORLD TOUR #1 - Marvel's very own K-pop star returns for a one-shot by Greg Pak, Takeshi Miyazawa and Ario Anindito. Luna's popularity has taken a hit in the wake of One World Under Doom. Can she take control of her music and bring her fans back on side?
And that's it for another week. See you next time, pals!
