The Gosh! Authority 14.12.22
Hello!

The ghosts of Christmas are upon us, and with them come the festive traditions of changed opening hours and disrupted deliveries. Magical! Things get a little changed up from next Monday, where we'll be extending opening hours through the week. For a full list, check this out:
Monday 19th – Friday 23rd : 10.30am – 8.00pm
Saturday 24th : 10.30am – 2.00pm
Sunday 25th & Monday 26th : Closed
Tuesday 27th – Friday 30th : 10.30am – 7pm
Saturday 31st : 10.30am – 2.00pm
Sunday 1st : Closed
Monday 2nd onward: return to normal trading.
In addition, there will be changes to new comics delivery over this period. There will be a delivery between Christmas and New Year, arriving on Thursday 29th to go out same day, and again post-New Year the delivery will arrive on Thursday 5th to go out same day. Obviously when books are on the shelves will depend on delivery times and how long they take to process, but experience suggests we'll have it all on the shelves by early afternoon.
The delayed Marvel books from last week arrive this week, so it's a bit of a monster. If you've been looking for even shorter blurbs than I normally write for titles, today's your lucky day!
HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

- DANGER STREET #1 - Tom King is back to his King-y tricks in this new series with art by the brilliant Jorge Fornes (King certainly does get the top drawer choice of artists for his books). Using the heroes and villains from 70s DC title 1st Issue Special, King and Fornes are pulling together a 12 issue spotlight for some of DC's most overlooked characters. While trading in King's usual grittiness, by all accounts it's not afraid to get a bit goofy, which is fitting given the series it's drawing on.

- BATMAN SPAWN #1 - Remember what works of art the Batman / Spawn crossovers of old were? Rejoice! Todd McFarlane and Greg Capullo are here to create something worthy of that literary pantheon! Moody! Gritty! Intense! Probably rather nicely drawn!

- A VICIOUS CIRCLE #1 - Fan fave Lee Bermejo is joined by screenwriter Mattson Tomlin for an original new title about two time hopping assassins who are locked in a rivalry that spans history. A three issue mini, the series is in an oversized format to showcase Bermejo's stunning art. He has adapted his style for each time period, paying homage to era-specific artists and turning in some of the best work of his career so far.

- DARK WEB #1 - The big Spidey event kicks off with this one shot by Zeb Wells and Adam Kubert. Ben Reilly and Madelyne Pryor, Marvel's jilted clones, are teaming up drag NYC into hell in an all-new Inferno.

- NIGHT CLUB #1 - An all-new Mark Millar series with artist Juanan Ramirez. A teenage vampire uses his powers to fight crime in this horror/superhero hybrid story. A fairly clean pitch that one might make to, say, a Netflix executive. And as a plus, Millar is pricing this series at $1.99/issue, which is a pretty decent deal!

- INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #1 - Gerry Duggan and Juan Frigeri put Tony Stark - who has lost all his wealth and hardware - through the wringer in this new IM ongoing.

- MONICA RAMBEAU PHOTON #1 - The former Captain Marvel is back in a new solo series by Eve L. Ewing, Ivan Fiorelli & Luca Maresca.

- THANOS DEATH NOTES #1 - An anthology of Thanos tales that follow on from the events of Eternals, events of Eternals, with stories by J. Michael Straczynski, Kyle Starks, Christopher Cantwell, Torunn Grønbekk, Travel Foreman, Ron Lim, Andrea Di Vito & Geoff Shaw.

- MILES MORALES SPIDER-MAN #1 - Miles is back in his old costume with a series relaunch and his old costume in this new #1 by Cody Ziglar and artist Federico Vicentini.

- X-TREME X-MEN #1 - Chris Claremont and Salvador Larocca are taking us back to the early 2000s with this continuation of their original run. Bang down those carcinogenic energy drinks and get ready to get X-TREME!

- MOON GIRL AND DEVIL DINOSAUR #1 - The welcome return of Lunella Lafayette and her big chompy pal courtesy of Jordan Ifueko & Alba Glez.

- ASSASSIN’S APPRENTICE #1 - Beginning an adaptation of the first book in Robin Hobb's huge (in fantasy fiction circles) Farseer Trilogy, by Jody Houser and Ryan Kelly.

- ART BRUT #1 - The original collaboration (formerly known as the Electric Sublime) of Ice Cream Man creators W. Maxwell Prince, Martin Morazzo & Mat Lopes is back in print, along with all new covers and original back up stories in every issue.

- DARK CRISIS BIG BANG #1 - Mark Waid, Dan Jurgens and Norm Rapmund go on a little tour through the newly minted multiverse, taking in the likes of the Jurassic League, the Dark Knights of Steel and Batman 89.

- DARK WEB X-MEN #1 - Madelyne and Ben (AKA the Goblin Queen and Chasm) are bringing the sights of Limbo to the streets of NYC, and it's fair to say that the X-Men might have some history with it all. A crossover mini by Gerry Duggan & Rod Reis.
And that's it! See you next week for one last pre-Chrismas bash!
