The Gosh! Authority 15.03.23

Hello!

If you pop along to the Brian Bolland & Dave Gibbons Comica event this Tuesday (sold out, but perhaps worth keeping an eye out for returns) you'll see our Greg there peddling some Bolland & Gibbons wares (including copies of Dave Gibbons' new autobiography Confabulations). Swing by and say hi!

On with the comics!

HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

  • X-CELLENT #1 - The esteemable team of Milligan and the Allreds return for the second and final season of their ooky, kooky X-book. Zeitgeist will stop at nothing to get that sweet influencer fame: can the next generation of X-Statix stop him? A++ superhero comics!

  • FORGED #1 - Greg Rucka teams up with co-writer Eric Trautmann and artist Mike Henderson. Don't look for the sophistication of Lazarus here: this is a rip-roaring sci-fi adventure following a troop of far future super soldiers on a mission gone wrong. Expect blood, guts, and pulpy, pulpy action.

  • HELLCAT #1 - Patsy Walker is back in a new solo title thanks to Christopher Cantwell (who did a great job with her in Iron Man) and Alex Lins. Back on the West coast, Patsy finds herself embroiled in a murder investigation in which she's the main suspect, is haunted by the ghost of her mother, and has to deal with her ex: Daimon Hellstrom, the Son of Satan. Probably should've stayed on the East coast.

  • SUPERMAN LOST #1 - The excellent Christopher Priest and Carlo Pagulayan spin a cool looking, standalone 10 issue mini starring the Man of Steel. After Clark heads into space on a Justice League mission, he returns a changed man: a man 20 years older, in fact. Where has he been? What has he done? And can their relationship survive it?

  • MULTIVERSITY HARLEY SCREWS UP THE DCU #1 - Frank Tieri & Logan Faerber take Harley on a madcap trip through the DC Multiverse as she goes on a time-travelling joyride and messes everything upalong the way.

  • NO/ONE #1 - The latest addition to the Massive-Verse by Brian Buccellato, Kyle Higgins & Geraldo Borges. In the wake of a series of killings, there's a new vigilante on the streets of Pittsburgh, one who's determined to bring those in power to justice.

  • LAZARUS PLANET WAR OF THE GODS #1 - Really a Wonder Woman & Shazam team-up mini, LPWOTG -  as I like to call it - follows on from the events of Lazarus Planet. The gods have had enough of mankind's disrespect: time to teach the puny mortals the meaning of fear. Only Billy Batson and Diana of Themyscira can stand in their way! The creative team includes G. Willow Wilson, Becky Cloonan, Michael Conrad, Mark Morales, Alitha Martinez & Cian Tormey.

See ya next week!

Andrew.
