The Gosh! Authority 19.07.23

Hello!

Things are pretty quiet on the events front for the next month, but it's never too early to get hyped for the incredible Small Press Day we have lined up for Saturday 5th August! Part of the annual celebrations occurring nationwide, this year is our biggest ever with a monster line-up of self-publishing creators doing workshops through the day. If you've ever wanted to make and publish your own comics but weren't sure how, Small Press Day is a perfect time to get advice from those that have trod the path before you. Get the details here.

HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

  • SUNSHINE PATRIOTS #1 - After his satirical take on the history of comics with Hey Kids, Comics, Howard Chaykin turns to his other great passion: cinema. Set in the earliest days of Hollywood, we follow two former Rough Riders who are enlisted as problem solvers by the studios, who are battling the newly arrived Sicilian mobsters.

  • HAWKGIRL #1 - JSA and JLA fave Kendra Saunders heads to Metropolis to start a new life, but immediately runs into an Nth metal-powered villain with designs on her wings and weapons. Sounds rough, but hey - no Knight Terrors! Jadzia Axelrod & Amancay Nahuelpan do the honours.

  • MOON KNIGHT CITY OF THE DEAD #1 - The Fist of Konshu gets a spin-off mini as he heads to the underworld to save the life of a young runaway, who lies in a critical condition after being attacked by a death cult. Expect mystical weirdness!

  • BLADE #1 - Bryan Hill (who is good) and Elena Casagrande (who is also good) bring us the new adventures of Blaaaade. He's got to clean up his own mess after unleashing an ancient evil (those things are everywhere) which threatens the living and the dead alike.

  • HARLEY QUINN BLACK WHITE & REDDER #1 - You know how this goes: a new anthology of Harley stories in black, white, and spot red. This issue we have Chip Zdarsky, Kevin Maguire, Leah Williams, Natacha Bustos, Paul Scheer, Nick Giovannetti and Tom Reilly!

  • TALES OF THE TITANS #1 - A series of character-focused one shots profiling the Titans, looking at their past and present. First up is Starfire: Princess Koriand'r herself! Heh heh...."koriand'r".
  • KNIGHT TERRORS CONTINUES! - Yes, the journey through the nightmare worlds of DCs heroes (and villains) continues this week with the #1 issues below.

  • KNIGHT TERRORS CATWOMAN #1

  • KNIGHT TERRORS NIGHTWING #1

  • KNIGHT TERRORS PUNCHLINE #1

  • KNIGHT TERRORS SUPERMAN #1

  • KNIGHT TERRORS WONDER WOMAN #1

Sweet dreams, all!

Andrew.
