The Gosh! Authority 22.05.24
Hello!
We've got a great signing for you this Saturday, 1-2pm, as Department of Truth artist Martin Simmonds is here to sign copies of his latest collaboration with James Tynion IV, Universal Monsters Dracula! It's a brilliant, beautiful adaptation, now collected into a handsome hardcover for which we've got an exclusive bookplate! Details here.
Quick reminder: bank holiday next Monday = late delivery of comics next week. Books will be delivered to go out on Wednesday, so give us until lunchtime or so to get everything sorted.
HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK
- WHITE BOAT #1 - The ever-popular team of Scott Snyder and Francesco Francavilla are together again for this new Lovecraftian horror from DSTLRY (meaning a lovely big showcase for Francavilla's art). Getting out on one of the big super-yachts sounds like a dream come true, right? Depends on the destination, as the sacrifices...err...passengers aboard this big white boat are about to discover.
- UNION JACK THE RIPPER: BLOOD HUNT #1 - This mini looks to be the sleeper hit of the Blood Hunt tie-ins, with Cavan Scott and the legendary Kev Walker take a look at what Joey Chapman, aka Union Jack, is up to while the world bleeds. Unsurprisingly, it mainly involves killing vampires.
- BLOOD SQUAD SEVEN #1 - Joe Casey and Paul Fry do the deconstructed superhero thing, with a 90s twist. What if those grim'n'gritty heroes of (incredibly) 30 years ago were to come out of retirement in the modern world? What will their values and methods mean today? And will they still be as rad as they were?
- SPIDER-GWEN: THE GHOST SPIDER #1 - The Gwen Stacy of Earth-65 makes a permanent move to Earth-616. But the reasons are a mystery, as is her need to hide herself from the other Spider-Folk. Stephanie Phillips & Federica Mancin launch a new ongoing for Spider-Gwen.
- BUTCHER'S BOY #1 - A new horror tale from Landry Q. Walker & Justin Greenwood. One hundred years after an entire town was brutally murdered by a mysterious figure known as the Butcher of Perdita, the legend lives on. And as six road-tripping pals are about to discover, the legend kills on too.
Have a great week, folks! Happy comic reading!
Andrew.
