The Gosh! Authority 23.06.25
Hello!
We've got three events for you folks this week, including the return of an old favourite! First up this Thursday, 7-9pm, we'll have Anna Trench here to celebrate the release of Florrie, her romance set in the early 20th Century world of women's football. Details here.
Then on Friday from 6.30pm it's the triumphant return of the Gosh! Comics & Broken Frontier Drink'n'Draw! Andy at BF has heroically kept the Drink'n'Draw going online since the pandemic hit way back in 2020, so big thanks to him, and we're happy to be able to work with him again to return to a face to face setting! Meet us at the store for 6.30pm where you can buy some work from our resident cartoonist Mark Stafford and special guest artists Dominique Duong and Lucy Sullivan. Then its off to pub where the drawing begins! Details here.
And finally this week, Chanté Timothy will be here on Saturday, 1-2pm, to sign copies of her amazing new kids graphic novel Supa Nova! Be sure to come grab a signed copy! Details here.
And finally, you may have seen this week that Diamond are ceasing publication of a physical copies of the Previews catalogue. From July onward it will be digital-only. We will still be receiving physical catalogues for Marvel, DC, Image and IDW. As you may be aware, distribution has become rather splintered in the US, so there are now a number of different digital catalogues available in different places. I'll try and keep you up to date each month of where you can access them.
Catalogues for DC, Image, Titan and a number of others (in the "Next Phase" catalogue) can be found here each month.
Catalogues for Marvel, Dark Horse, Boom, IDW and others (in the "PRH Panels" catalogue) can be found here each month.
Previews for July is here.
And Previews UK for July is here.
Ordering is the same as ever: have a look through the catalogues and if you see anything interesting just drop us a line to add it to your order!
HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK
- NEW HISTORY OF THE DC UNIVERSE #1 - Living DC encyclopedia Mark Waid gives us the definitive history of the DC Universe (circa 2025), teaming up with a different artist each issue (DC art legend Jerry Ordway is at the plate this time). Barry Allen is our guide, taking us from the earliest days of the JSA. And just look at those Chris Samnee covers!
- NEWS FROM THE FALLOUT #1 - Chris Condon and Jeffrey Alan Love unleash atomic horror in this series set in the wake of a nuclear bomb test gone wrong. The only survivor is an army private, who flees across the Nevada desert leaving behind radiation and his monstrous former colleagues.
- LAZARUS FALLEN #1 - The long-awaited return of Greg Rucka and Michael Lark's dystopian near-future sci-fi saga! Forever Carlysle is back for the final act of her story, free to make her own choices, and with a serious axe to grind. See her try to tear it all down in a world that seems even more relevant than when it began.
- CLEMENTINE BOOK THREE TP - Speaking of finales, this week also sees the third and final chapter in Tillie Walden's YA Walking Dead trilogy. Will Clementine find happiness in the zombie apocalypse? Hopefully, but who can say? Tillie's gonna keep you guessing!
- MAGICK LANTERN #1 - The mighty Shaky Kane returns, writing and drawing this one shot satire featuring typically outlandish, outstanding cartooning. Meet Elon Gates, world's smartest man?
- TRAMPS OF THE APOCALYPSE #1 - Alice Darrow channels some Russ Meyer into this post-apocalyptic tale of men gone wild with power, and the three out of control women who defy them. Those looking for subtle critiques of the patriarchy might want to look elsewhere: this one is looking to punch patriarchy squarely in its Andrew Tate-shaped face.
- GIANT SIZE AGE OF APOCALYPSE #1 - Ms Marvel and Legion bounce into the grim future of the Age of Apocalypse in the latest on this series of one-shots. Writers Jackson Lanzing and
Collin Kelly team up with artist Carlos Fabian Villa for this one.
- X-MEN FROM THE ASHES DEMONS AND DEATH #1 - The second one-shot collecting the From the Ashes digital comics by Alex Paknadel and Phillip Sevy.
And that's it!
Andrew.
