The Gosh! Authority 27.09.23
Hello!
This Sunday, from 10.30am - 7pm, we'll be selling the personal book collection of the late, great Kevin O'Neill, with proceeds going to his Estate. Please note that this is in-person only, with no reservations and - due to the purpose of the event - no discounts. As you might expect, Kevin possessed a weird and wonderful collection of art books and comics, so be sure to take the opportunity to have a browse and pick up something to help support his Estate. Details here.
Before that, however, we'll have Stewart Kenneth Moore in to sign copies of his masterful adaptation of Macbeth! Come down on Saturday, 1-2pm, and grab a copy, plus Stewart will happily sign his other work as well. Details here.
In other exciting news, we're launching an all-new newsletter that's sure to be on interest to many of you. The Gosh! Small Press Mailer will be coming out every fortnight, with Greg spotlighting what's new and exciting in our small/self/micro-published section, both local and imported. Sounds good? Click here to sign up.
Pretty small week for new stuff, made all the smaller by the following DC books being delayed a week to the UK. The following will be shipping next week:
Still a decent DC to kick off though, and plenty of other goodies in (like Miracleman Silver Age #6!)
HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK
- FLASH #1 - Simon Spurrier joins with Mike Deodato for a whole new direction with DC's top speedster. It's a big swing for the creative pair, as Wally's experimentation with his powers begins to unlock elements of cosmic horror that lie just outside the realm of the Speed Force. Sounds like an interesting, fresh take that scratches that old DC British Invasion supernatural superhero itch.
- USAGI YOJIMBO ICE AND SNOW #1 - A new Usagi #1 - this time marking his return to Dark Horse - is a perfect time to remind you all that Usagi Yojimbo is, and has been for many years, one of the best books on the racks. And yes, he's sticking with colour for the time being. Some UY purists disliked the colour in the IDW run, but I thought it was done in a very sympathetic manner that worked with Sakai's style. Anyway...Usagi Yojimbo: good stuff!
And that's it! See you next time, folks!
Andrew.
