The Gosh! Authority 28.01.26
Hello!

Okay Sale-fans, your time has come! This Saturday sees the start of our usual massive books sale, when our tube table is taken over with boxes and boxes of heavily reduced graphic novels and kids books. We reduce these things to move quickly, so you can find some knockout bargains in there. First-come first-served, no reservations and only available in store. Make those Saturday plans now! In fact, make plans until Sunday the 14th February, as sale stock will be refreshed throughout.
(I should note that there will be no back issue sale this year, but you vintage comics fans keep your eyes open for another exciting announcement soon!)

In case you missed it, last week we unveiled the first of our 40th anniversary plans: a series of monthly prints by some of our favourite artists both new and old. We're kicking off with Alessandra Criseo's fabulous rendition of Fantomah, the ghoulish 1940s heroine created by Fletcher Hanks (as seen in the Fantagraphics collection Turn Loose Our Death Rays And Kill Them All). Grab a copy and start collecting the set by clicking here!

Looks like there's a chunk of (particularly Image) stuff that was due to ship this week that hasn't quite made it over in time, presumably because of Stateside weather. Happily Absolute Batman #16, the second part of his crossover with Absolute Wonder Woman, isn't among the missing. Rejoice!
HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

- IRON MAN #1 - Joshua Williamson and Carmen Carnero begin a new era for Tony Stark. Madame Masque is at the head of Advanced Idea Mechanics, on a mission to create the next generation of military technology. Not something Tony feels entriely comfortable about as the creator of the last generation. Is Iron Man about to be usurped? SPOILERS: probably not, but hopefully we get some fun stories along the way!

- SPIRIT OF THE SHADOWS #1 - A dayglo mindbender from Daniel Ziegler and Nick Cagnetti. After an untimely demise, Erik Leroux is reborn as the Spirit of the Shadows, an undead superhero who will seek vengeance for the sins against a life he barely remembers. Looks very pretty, and fans of Cagnetti's Pink Lemonade will know the kind of frenetic energy storytelling they're in for.

- DC KO THE KIDS ARE ALL FIGHT #1 - Jon Kent leads a band of younger heroes against the plans of Granny Goodness in this DC K.O. spin-off. Jeremy Adams and Travis Mercer are behind this one-shot which promises a *gasp* SHOCKING finale! We'll see about that, DC. I'm not easily shocked!

- DCS SUPERGIRL NEXT DOOR #1 - Supergirl leads DCs annual Valentine's special, another 80-page anthology of chaste super-love. As ever with an anthology, I'm sure there will be highlights and lowlights, but DC generally do a pretty decent job with these anthologies, so worth a look for the DC-inlcined.
And that's everything for you, you lucky lot!
Andrew.
