And then on Saturday, 1-2pm, we'll have Reinhard Kleist here to sign copies of the next chapter in his Bowie biographies, Low: Bowie's Berlin Years! Details here.

Don't forget that the bank holiday means new comics are not arriving to go out until Wednesday. As ever, we hope to have them on the shelves by lunchtime, courier be good. Also, we've got the June DC catalogue this week, but no sign of the Marvel or Previews catalogues as yet!

HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

  • GODDAMN TRAGEDY #1 - A horror western by Chris Condon and Shawn Kuruneru, inspired by the grim tale of the Donner Party. It's the 1840's, and as a group of pioneers head West, one family peels off to try an untested mountain pass. This one-shot is narrated by survivor Ellen Janson, daughter to the doomed travellers.

  • MR TERRIFIC YEAR ONE #1 - Al Letson and Valentine De Landro retell the early years of Mr Terrific through the lens of his investigations in the present day. With a superhero career born out of unspeakable tragedy, Michael Holt finds renewed purpose in bringing justice to the corrupt new owners of an industrial company he walked away from.

  • PALE KNIGHT #1 - A tale of medieval horror by Peter Milligan and Val Rodrigues. A knight returns from wars abroad only to find his son stricken with the black plague, which is ripping through Europe. Praying for help, he's answered by Death itself, and it has a deal to offer him...

  • GIANT SIZE X-MEN #1 - Ms Marvel fans rejoice! In this series of Giant Size one-shots, Kamala Khan bounces through time, interacting with key events in X-history. First up, we're back to the start of the all new X-Men as they encounter Krakoa for the first time. All five one-shots are written by Jackson Lanzing & Collin Kelly, with a different artist on each. First up: Adam Kubert!

    • VENOM ORIGINAL SIN #1 - Collecting the Marvel Infinity comic in print for the first time. Steve Orlando and Matt Horak show us the folly of meddling in the past as King In Black Eddie Brock tries to fix the mistakes of yesteryear, with disastrous results.

And that's it from me! See you next week!

    Andrew.
