The Gosh! Authority 29.12.22

Hello!

Shuffle off, Old Father Time, and let the brash baby of 2023 get on with something that's hopefully a little more upbeat. Yes, New Year's Day is just around the corner, and this week sees a surprisingly decent sized delivery for the lost week between the 25th and the 1st. Just a reminder that the delivery will be arriving to go out on Thursday the 29th, so look to the afternoon for everything to be on the shelf.

I've been asked about whether we'll be doing a January sale this year, and the answer is yes and no. We will be doing one, but it'll happen in February. We figure why not spread a little inexpensive joy in that most miserable of months? More details in a couple of weeks.

Although it's a good sized week with some great stuff, there's not a massive amount of new stuff to shout about. Let's get to it shall we?

HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

  • TIMELESS #1 - Another Timeless one-shot which acts as a preview of what's happening in Marvel this year as Kang ping pongs through time in an effort to escape another time-travelling foe. Jed MacKay writes (which given his other work with Kang is a pretty solid sell for me) with art by Greg Land, Patrick Zircher & Salvador Larroca.

  • TALES FROM EARTH-6 A CELEBRATION OF STAN LEE #1 - Just Imagine...Stan Lee's 100th birthday came around and to celebrate DC dusted off the characters from the Just Imagine...Stan Lee Created The DC Universe one-shots. Just Imagine...no more, because that's just what they've done in this bumper collection of all-new stories.

  • SANDMAN UNIVERSE PRESENTS THE DEAD BOY DETECTIVES #1 - Pornsak Pichetshote and Jeff Stokely bring back the Sandman's ghostly sleuthing duo in this new miniseries. The lads are off to Hollywood to investigate the disappearance of a Thai American girl, only to come up against some dangerous ghostly forces working against them. Oh, and Game of You's Thessaly pops up for good measure.

  • BOOK OF SLAUGHTER #1 - A look ahead into the upcoming year for the Slaughterverse (that's what they're calling it, and I approve) by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell'Edera. This one-shot follows Maxine Slaughter as she must decide exactly whose side she is on, with her decision playing out in the pages of Something is Killing the Children and House of Slaughter. Plus there's a handy-dandy guide to the Order of St George!

  • JOHN STEWART THE EMERALD KNIGHT #1 - Picking up where the last run of Green Lantern left off with the creative team of Geoffrey Thorne and Marco Santucci. John Stewart leads the Green Lanterns against the mad New God Esak in an effort to find a way home from the dark sectors.

See you next year!
