Where Have You Been? is a collection of short graphic literary stories set in the former Yugoslavia and in Canada. The book depicts an array of complex characters rarely seen in comics and contains a string of slice-of-life miniatures that encompass such vignettes as a romantic relationship in a totalitarian society, an immigrant's quiet sadness in a beautiful city, and a child's anxiety-ridden consumption of books. These portraits of human comedy and tragedy require the reader's full attention as there is more in them than meets the eye. Initially published in the Balkans' leading literary, comics and culture magazines, they are collected in this volume and translated to English for the first time. It received the Doug Wright Award in 2023 as Canada's best small or micro-press comic book.
