"This short story is set in a certain country where the Red Death has broken out on a large scale. The whole tone throughout the work is eerie, mysterious and weird. In the novel, the prince and his courtiers abandon the people in his territory and hide in a remote castle. , and finally, he and everyone died at the hands of the Red Death at a masquerade ball in the castle.

It is worth noting that by depicting the extremely lavish ball scene, the author satirises human nature and reveals the fear of death and the inevitability of death."
