Bog Eyed Books Launch Party for Sister Clawdetta & Walkies

Bog Eyed Books are at it again with two great new releases, and we're celebrating along with creators Tor Freeman and David Ziggy Greene on Friday 10th June, 7-9pm! We'll have stocks of Sister Clawdetta, the new comics collection by Tor, and Walkies, the new picture book by David, as well as all the other great Bog Eyed Books collections available on the night.

Writer and illustrator Tor Freeman is a multi-award winning creator, responsible for picturebooks such as Olive and the Bad Mood, Digby Dog Saves the Day and the Toucan Brother, and the comic series Welcome to Oddleigh (serialized in The Phoenix, collected by Bog Eyed, and one of our best kids graphic novels of 2018). Sister Clawdetta is her latest book, a YA comics mystery (nunstery?):

"Sister Clawdetta – there’s nun like her! There’s trouble at the monastery: monks keep turning up not alive! Who is behind these sinister murders – and who will be next?? Father Eglantine can think of only one person to call: Sister Clawdetta, the nun detective! Join our heroic sister and her new sidekick Anuncias as they go deep into the mysteries of the medieval monastery, and discover much more than they’d bargained for…"

David Ziggy Greene is a celebrated illustrator and comics journalist, who is perhaps best known for his Private Eye strip Scene and Heard, collected in two volumes: Scene and Heard & Times Like These. David was also one of the founders of Small Press Day, an annual celebration of self-publishing that helps to showcase all those who are out there crafting their own comics. Walkies is David's first picture book, and it's an absolute delight!

"The smells! The excitement! The scratches!! Dogs love nothing more than going for walkies. No matter their size or shape, our furry friends can’t help but enjoy their daily stroll in their own inimitable, silly styles. This hilarious and adorable book is full of running, sniffing, barking, splashing, tangling and, er… weeing, that every dog lover will recognise."

David and Tor will be here to meet, greet, sign copies and have a drink or two on Friday 10th June, 7-9pm. If you can't make it but would like to get a signed copy of either or both books for collection or mail order, you can find them on our online store: Sister Clawdetta here, and Walkies here.
