Hello! Autumn is upon us!

This Thursday, 7-9pm, we're lucky enough to have the incredibly popular Guy Bass of Stitch Head fame and artist David Roberts here to launch their new book The Worst Thing That Could Probably Happen! Get the details here.

Then speaking of lucky, on Saturday, 2-3pm, we have none other than Sean Phillips here to sign copies of Criminal Five Gears in Reverse and the wonderful new Anniversary print Sean has done for us, Lights of Soho! Order that sucker here. (He'll also sign anything else you bring: details here!)

Just a reminder, with the bank holiday this past week, deliveries are delayed, arriving on Wednesday to go out then. So don't expect things on the shelf for opening. We'll get them out as quick as we can, courier willing.

Absolute monster of a week. Let's get into it, and let's be brief about it! 

HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

• LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #1 - There are some very excited corners of comics fandom this week. You know who you are. And you know what? I agree! This launch of the Legion is, if nothing else, going to be an artistic highlight, with the incredible Hayden Sherman on board as artist. And not being much of a Legion reader outside of a brief span collecting the Abnett and Lanning books, I'm not even going to get upset about any weird decisions Joshua Williamson makes about characters, storylines, etc. Sign me up!

• DOOM PATROL #1 - Now this is also rather exciting: Darcy Van Poelgeest and Niko Henrichon join forces for an all-new take on the weirdest heroes of all. Always feels like big shoes to fill, taking on the Doom Patrol, but Van Poelgeest certainly has the weird chops required, as any fan of his works with Ian Bertram can attest. And Henrichon feels like a really top drawer choice to give the book an exciting, different look. This is actually my top pick of the week, but I had to give those Legion fans their moment in the sun.

• ARCHIE #1 - A new era for the all-American redhead as Oni Press launches a new line of licenced Archie book, starting with the man himself! Ben H. Winters and Fábio Moon (!) give Archie Andrews a contemporary makeover.

• CROWBOUND #1 - Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen reunite for a new dark fantasy series of indentured service, floating fortresses, and scary magical beings looking to strike a bargain. Nice to see these two working together again. Always worth checking out!

• SUPERMAN THE STRANGER #1 - Wes Craig writes and draws a Black Label Golden Age Superman story. It's the Superman of old, looking to stand up for the little guy and fight against the unfairness and injustice of Metropolis. But maybe just punching the bad guys isn't really solving the problem?

• TALES OF WONDER #1 - Steve Scroce loves two things: scathing satire, and skull-popping ultraviolence. Not sure how we're going to go on the latter in his latest series, but the former is there in spades, as two friends go into the comic book industry together, badly fall out, and then reunite many years later for a comic universe that turns out to be a little more real than they bargained for.

• TEEN TITANS #1 - The Red Hood transitions into his "get off my lawn" phase, as he grumpily recruits a bunch of kids into an all new Teen Titans team. Kyle Higgins and Daniele Di Nicuolo give Red Hood fans the series they don't want, but will probably hunt down anyway because let me tell you, those Red Hood fans out there are ravenous!

• WARBIRD #1 - Ahh...Warbird. Remember that hilarious time I thought I was ordering single issues of Warbird #0, but was actually ordering bundles and wound up with 1000 copies of it? I sure do. I sure do. Anyway, it's a proper launch for Robert Venditti, Derek Kolstad and Alex Maleev's super spy. And if you want a copy of Warbird #0, just let me know. God I hope they make a movie of this.
  

• BLACK PANTHER NAMOR DOOMED #1 - T'Challa and Namor are headed to Hell after repelling an invasion of demons from their respective nations. Who should they meet down there, but the soul of that jolly scamp Victor Von Doom! Ethan S. Parker, Griffin Sheridan and Stefano Nesi bring you this Avengers Armageddon tie-in.

• BATMAN SUPERMAN WEIRD AL WORLDS WEIRDEST #1 - You can thank Mark Waid, Dan Schoening and MrMxyzptlk for bringing the World's Finest and Weird Al together. They missed a trick not putting a sound chip in here. 

• SPIDER-WOMAN 50TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL #1 - A duo of tales set early and late in Jessica Drew's career as Spider-Woman, celebrating 50 years of adventures. Ann Nocenti, Stefano Raffaele, Dan Watters and Andrea Broccardo wish her a very happy birthday.
  

• MARVEL MANGAVERSE WEB OF BLOOD #1 - Joe Kelly is brining his lad Jack to work, along with artist Kenny Ruiz, to revisit the world of the Marvel Mangaverse in the first of a series of one-shots. It's the end of the Mangaverse as we know it, and Miles Morales, Laura Kinney and Illyana Rasputin don't intend to take it sitting down.

• MARVEL ZOMBIES WAR ZONE #1 - A zombie-infested NYC is quarantined, fenced off from the rest of the world. Nobody living would dare enter its borders. Apart from Frank Castle, because that's just the kind of guy he is. Tom Waltz and Jaime Infante throw the Punisher into a morally uncomplicated killzone!

• HELLRAISER RESURRECTIONS NEW WORLDS #1 - The first in a bunch of one-shots featuring all-news stories from the Hellraiser universe. One of the few universes of licenced adaptations where the comics are probably in aggregate far better than the films. Yes, I loved the first, and had grudging respect for the ambition of the second, but after that? Let's not delude ourselves. Anyway, don't let the comic fans down, Mike Costa and Paco Camallonga!

• BROWNFIELD ACTION FAMILY #1 & 2 - Yes, two issues at once. Because YOU deserve it! And also distribution stuff. An indie series by the excellent Ted May, which follows a man who inherits his family's old martial arts studio, but must deal with the oddball neighbourhood it's siutated in, and the rest of his dysfuntional family. 

• NO GODS NO MASTERS #1 - A kaiju story by Julio Anta and Jacoby Salcedo, focusing on the smaller acts of heroism. A boy and his friends set out across Manhattan after a kaiju attack to rescue his mother from a destroyed Subway station. 
  

• LAZARUS ORDER #1 - It's plague doctors a-plenty in this medieval fantasy by Sloane M. Siegel and Juan Doe. The distinctive beaked masks are the signature look of the Lazarus Order, a cabal of doctors who battle against the supernatural agents of "the First Sickness".

• X-MEN OMEGA RED DAWN #1 - Reprinting the digital comic by Steve Orlando and Alan Robinson, as the X-Men go chasing Omega Red after he kidnaps Professor X.

Yeesh! Good job we're not having to get this all out same day or anything!
