The Gosh! Authority 05.02.25
Hello!
This Saturday, 1-2pm, we have the legendary Alan Class here in store along with author Nick Neocleous for the signing of their book Secrets of the Unknown, a celebration of Alan's groundbreaking reprints that introduced many young Brits to American comics. They'll also have a special release of Creepy Worlds #250 available on the day! Get the details here.
And don't forget our sale is on! Heaps of reduced graphic novels and picture books are waiting for you, with new stock going out all the time. I erred slightly last week: the sale is only on until the 16th February, so don't drag your heels on coming in!
Previews ships this week (a week later than planned), but no sign of the DC catalogue yet. Should be next week.
And finally, as distribution hijinks are still playing out, we have another week with no Image titles. We were warned that there might be a delay of 2-3 weeks before things got back to normal with Image, so expect an Image tsunami any week now.
And now on with the (very small this week) show...
HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK
- BRONZE FACES #1 - It's a British Museum heist! Timi Balogun's father was an acclaimed Nigerian artist, his work now acquired by the British Museum, something Timi sees as an affronting cultural theft. On a drunken bender, Timi and his childhood friends Sango and Gbonka make a plan to steal the works back, but in doing their research come across an even more outrageous example of colonial theft: the 1500 pieces of bronze artwork taken from the Kingdom of Benin. Politics, history and thrills combine in this series by Shobo Coker, Shof Coker and Alexandre Tefenkgi.
- POWER MAN TIMELESS #1 - Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly and Bernard Chang return to the future Luke Cage we saw in Timeless, powered to the gills with the combined might of Iron Fist, the Hulk and the Sentry. But now he's coming back to the present day, bouncing across the solar system to battle a threat that only he has the power to face.
- STAR WARS LEGACY OF VADER #1 - It's a stealth Kylo Ren mini-series! As the First Order rises, Kylo travels across the galaxy to walk in the footsteps of his dear old grandad. Ahh...what a sweet old man he was, with his wheezy breath, flashing chest lights and mastery of the Dark Side. Charles Soule and Luke Ross bring the nostalgic family vibes.
And that, would you believe, is me done! See you next time! Hopefully with more comics than this!
Andrew.
