The Gosh! Authority 17.01.24

Hello!

It's our first signing of the year this Saturday, as Joel Meadows, Frazer Irving and Barry Kitson come down to sign the first book of Sherlock Holmes and the Empire Builders! Come along to grab a copy of this new tale of Baker Street's most famous resident, and the gents will also happily sign anything else of theirs you might wish to get scribbled on! Details here.

Just a reminder that our sale has begun! Half price back issues and boxes upon boxes of massively reduced graphic novels. It's running until the 28th January, with new stock being added all the time, so come down and grab a bargain.

And in case you missed it, we published a list of our top 100 selling books from 2023, which all you list-o-maniacs can find here.

HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

  • JAMES BOND 007 #1 - No offence to the Bond fans, but a new Bond title probably wouldn't get the #1 slot in any week. But then, most new Bond titles aren't written by Garth Ennis, teaming here with artist Rapha Lobosco. A disgruntled ex-double 0 and a deadly substance from the cold war era combine to give James a bigger headache than a whole night of martinis.

  • AVENGERS TWILIGHT #1 - Time to get dystopian with Chip Zdarsky and Daniel Acuña, as they take us to a future where the Avengers of the time are no longer the protectors of the Earth, but the rulers of it. Only one person can lead the resistance against them and restore the Avengers legacy: one Steve Rogers, long since retired and with a dwindling book of contacts to call on. Sounds good, looks good, and is a pleasingly standalone 6 issues.

  • COBRA COMMANDER #1 - The GI Joe relaunch continues, bringing on the bad guys. Joshua Williamson and Andrea Milana introduce us to the man who will head the nemesis of the Joes, COBRA! But for now he's just a greedy so-and-so out to harness the power of Energon for nefarious purposes. The rotter!

  • CABLE #1 - Fabian Nicieza and Scot Eaton bring us the Cable relaunch, as ol' glowy-eye battles on to prevent the future that lies in wait behind the imminent threat of Orchis: the Neocracy!

  • JACKPOT #1 - Mary Jane gets her own one-shot as a part of the Gang War crossover. Celeste Bronfman and Eric Gapstur do a round with the crimefighting redhead.

And that's all for this week, see you next!
