The Gosh! Authority 17.06.26

Hello!

gigs-600.jpg

This Saturday, 1-2pm, we have Mark Mosedale and Si Smith here to sign copies of their debut graphic novel Gigs! The book looks great, a satire on the future of work in a world of A.I., so come down and grab a copy. Details here.

Quiet week for events, so on with the comics!

HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

  • CONCRETE STARS OVER THE SAND #1 - Paul Chadwick returns to his most beloved creation as we check back in on Ron Lithgow, our titular stony protagonist. Sounds like all is not well, as Concrete has disappeared in the desert, and what limited news there is of him seems to indicate that he's lost his mind. Can Larry and Maureen find their friend before something terrible happens? Who knows. All I know is that I'm very excited to see a new Concrete story!

  • SPIDER-MAN LONG WAY HOME #1 - He's hung up his Ultimate Spidey hat, but Jonathan Hickman isn't done with Peter Parker just yet. Set in the early days of the Marvel Universe, this mini sees three men (or two men and one monster) contend for an artifact in the jungles of South America. The men? Spider-Man (at the behest of S.H.I.E.L.D.), the Hulk and a pre-Punisher Frank Castle. The artifact? A mysterious object known as the Cosmic Cube.

  • TRILLION DOLLAR KID #1 - Geoff Johns, Peter J. Tomasi and Stefano Simeone begin a new chapter in the Ghost Machine universe, introducing the mysterious Unbelievables. Mysterious to child trillionaire Tommy Townsend III, anyway, who makes it his mission to find them, with the assistance of his robot butler Sterling. Now, you won't be surprised to hear that money can't buy everything. It certainly surprises him, though, when things go to hell in a handbasket with remarkable speed.

  • MAD #600 - The landmark 600th issue of the greatest humour comic to ever grace the shelves. Grab a copy to read a 50/50 mix of classic reprints and brand new strips by the Usual Gang of Idiots.

  • LAND OF NEVER #1 - A new horror series by Steve Orlando and Miguel Mora. A disgraced ex-pathologist has spent years searching for his daughter, abducted from her room by a hulking, floating figure that he caught a glimpse of. Nobody believed him, but he begins to meet others who have seen this figure, a creature they call The Floating Man. Through the clues they provide, he gets closer to finding the truth.

And that's a wrap! See you next week!

Andrew.
