HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

• THAT TEXAS BLOOD HELL COMES TO ALLISON RANCH #1 - Chris Condon and Jacob Phillips' phenomenally popular crime series returns, this time set in 2003 on the eve of the Iraq war.  Sherriff Coates and Deputy Hart are called out to Allison Ranch, where a very different war is about to break out.

• MUPPETS TAKE THE MARVEL UNIVERSE #1 - I find it hard to read Muppets comics that aren't by Roger Langridge because he's just that damn good at them, but I'll give Ashley Allen, Mackenzie Cadenhead, Adam Goldberg, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Dan Slott, Kyle Starks, Chip Zdarsky, David Baldeon, Athila Fabbio, Mike Hawthorne, Mike Henderson, Kieran Mckeown, Paco Medina, EJ Su and Pete Woods a cumulative chance to prove they can match him as the Muppets butt heads with the Marvel crew. They won't match him, but who can?

• INFERNAL HULK VS WOLVERINE #1 - The first of four one-shots spinning out of the Infernal Hulk and spinning into the upcoming Hulk War event. Regular IH scribe Phillip Kennedy Johnson and artist Jonas Scharf pit Wolvie against Hulk!

• GAMBIT GONE #1 - The bad boy of the X-Men is back, spinning out of the recent X-Men of Apocalypse series. It's a tale of two Gambits, as we follow Pepe Le Pew - sorry - Remy Le Beau in both the Age of Apocalypse and 616 universes. It's a tale(s) told by Steve Orlando, Gerardo Sandoval and Edoardo Audino.

• CRIMES AGAINST NATURE #1 - A Hollywood animal trainer and his award-winning gorilla employee are framed and on the run in this comedy thriller by Eliot Rahal and Mattia Monaco. Can their friendship survive the dark secrets of their past while facing the pressures of being fugitives? And what dark secrets does a gorilla have?

• GHOST OF A GHOST #1 - Mike Mignola, Chris Roberson and Michael Avon Oeming check in on Agent Jiang after the events of Giant Robot Hellboy. She's using her newfound powers to keep enkeladite out of the hands of nefarious powers in this pastiche of 60s superspy action.

• STAR TREK #1 - I must admit, I don't normally highlight Star Trek titles on here because you know if you want them or not. But Christopher Cantwell has done such a great job with his Red Shirts series that I'd feel remiss not to give this new ongoing series (with artist Dennis Menheere) a shout.

• V FOR VENDETTA FACSIMILE EDITION #1 & WATCHMEN FACSIMILE EDITION #1 - Kicking off a full reprint of both these classic series by Alan Moore, David Lloyd and Dave Gibbons. Save yourself the hassle of digging them out of your longboxes and buy them fresh, or experience the serial thrill of them for the first time! Whatever works, folks, because I ordered a bunch!
