Thistlebone Book Two Signing With Simon Davis and T.C. Eglington

Simon Davis and T.C. Eglington will be signing here on Saturday 14th May, 1-2pm, to celebrate the release of the second collection of their 2000AD folk-chiller Thistlebone!

If ever there was proof of the continuing vitality of the UK's most venerable sci-fi anthology, Thistlebone is it. An immediate hit on its debut in 2019, the collaboration between 2000AD stalwarts Davis & Eglington tells the story of cult survivor Avril Eason returning to the town of Harrowvale, the scene of her abduction and near-sacrifice to the pagan god Thistlebone. The cult and its leader, Jasper Hillman, were brought to justice long ago, so why has Avril heard whispers of disturbing activities coming from the town? In the first volume she and Seema Chaudry, a writer who is putting together the pieces of what occured in Harrowvale, journeyed back to that place of sinister mysteries and traumatic memories, and experienced something that would change their lives forever.

Now in Book Two of the series, subtitled Poisoned Roots, we pick up one year later:

"The sequel to the break-out 2000 AD horror graphic novel, in the vein of Ben Wheatley's In the Earth. It has been over a year since journalist Seema Chaudry accompanied cult survivor Avril Eason back to the village of Harrowvale, the site of her terrifying experiences at the hands of Jasper Hillman’s Thistlebone worshippers, a crazed occult group that believed in an ancient woodland deity. Intended as a cathartic experience, both women were changed forever by what they were confronted with. Now, in the process of researching a book on the Thistlebone legend, Seema believes much of it centres around one man — Malcolm Kinniburgh."

Packaged in lovely oversized hardcover editions, the books really showcase the art of fan-favourite Davis. And you could have yours signed by both Simon Davis and T.C. Eglington! The special launch signing is happening right here at Gosh on Saturday 14th May, 1-2pm. No ticketing or booking required, and guests are welcome to have other items signed by the pair.

While we don't require masks to be worn, we do politely ask attendees to do so.
